Each country is evaluated across 6 relevant risk categories composed of 20 different risk indicators (9 quantitative and 11 qualitative), combined into a weighted composite score on a 1–10 scale for each category.
Those category scores are further combined and weighted into the final AML risk score for each jurisdiction. These final scores also correspond to the 1–10 score scale, and from it, the final risk level assessment is derived with the following possible outcomes: LOW, MEDIUM, INCREASED and HIGH.
Data is sourced from the Basel Institute on Governance, Institute for Economics & Peace, Transparency International, Global Initiative, World Justice Project, Tax Justice Network, EuroStat, OECD, European Council, US Executive Office of the President, UNODC, EU, FATF, and major sanctions lists, including EU, UN, OFAC, UK and Canada.
